On the Verge, Allan’s Park Primary School, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, A. Vogel and Stirling Health Food Store are joining forces to help our dwindling bee and bumblebee populations. Various events and talks have been organised to take place in the Stirling Health Food Store throughout the month of May.

We will kick off with a talk by Anthony from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust which is also located in Stirling. Anthony will talk about the problems facing bumblebees, and how we can help them in our own gardens.

The talk will take place on Thursday 9th May from 6pm – 7pm at the shop on 29 Dumbarton Road. The entrance fee of £5 goes directly to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. Anyone attending will receive a £5 A. Vogel voucher and a goodie bag.

The local kids are not sitting still either. The children from Allan’s Park Primary School’s eco-group are sowing bee friendly seeds on Thursday 9th May. The bee friendly seeds are being provided by On the Verge and A. Vogel, Stirling Health Food Store provides the growing space (check the window!) and the school will later plant the seedlings in their wildlife area.

Furthermore, children can test their knowledge about bees in a Bee’s Quiz and every Saturday in May there will be a lucky dip in the shop. Proceeds of which go to On the Verge. Until 31st July A. Vogel will donate 20p to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for every £7.50 spent on A. Vogel products.

Check out how we are filling up the flower poster in the window at 29 Dumbarton Road with bee stickers! Make sure you ‘bee’ there and help our bumblebee and bee populations, because it’s really important to keep them (and us) healthy!

All the activities are located in the Stirling Health Food Store.
