We sell a variety of whole foods at the Stirling Health Food Store, like: dried fruits, beans & pulses, flour, oats, oatmeal, cereals and grains in bulk size or small at competitive prices.

Whole Foods

Whole foods are foods that are unprocessed and unrefined, or processed and refined as little as possible, before being consumed. Whole foods typically do not contain added ingredients, such as sugar, salt, vitamins, or fat. Examples of whole foods include unpolished grains, beans, fruits, vegetables and non-homogenized diary products.

Below you'll find a list of whole foods with information and suggestions on how to use them.

  • Dried Fruits
    Dates, prunes, sultanas, raisins, figs are all examples of dried fruits. You can just snack on them as a healthy alternative to chocolate bars or use them in baking and cooking. Some dried fruits are nicer when soaked first.

  • Beans & Pulses
    We sell all sorts of beans and pulses; lentils, black eyed beans, butterbeans, green split peas, chickpeas, aduki beans, kidney beans, mung beans etc. Beans and pulses are an excellent source of protein; you can use them as a substitute to meat when making curries, stews or soups. If you buy dried beans and pulses make sure you soak them overnight before cooking.

  • Flour
    Choose from organic wholemeal or white breadmaking flour, self-raising flour, organic white or wholemeal plain flour for home baking. We sell a large range of gluten free flours like: buckwheat flour, gram flour, chestnut flour, coconut flour, gluten free oat flour, potato flour and tapioca flour. And bread mixes or cake mixes to make gluten free bread or gluten free cake.

  • Oatmeal
    You can choose Aberfeldy fine, medium, coarse or pinhead oatmeal to make your perfect porridge. You can also opt for Green City oatmeal or porridge oats and jumbo oats.

  • Oats and Cereals
    Make your own (gluten free) muesli by combining  the cereal flakes you like. Or use rice flakes or millet flakes to make a gluten free porridge. We sell wheat flakes, barley flakes, rice flakes, millet flakes, quinoa flakes and buckwheat flakes.

  • Grains & Seeds
    For the more experienced cook we sell whole buckwheat, barley grain, wheat grain, oat groats, quinoa and millet. You can use these as an altenative to rice, which of course we sell too; organic long grain brown rice, short grain brown rice and brown basmati rice.
    Choose from organic sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, linseeds, flaxseeds, omega 3 seed mix and poppy seeds to have as a healthy snack or to liven up your home made bread and salads.

Bulk size

If you use a lot of a certain product, we can order most of our whole foods in bulk size. Sizes vary from 1kg to 25kg and you can just let us know what you would like to order and we'll get it in for you. Examples of bulk sizes are 10kg of wholewheat bread flour, 3kg of organic almonds or 25kg of brown rice.
